Booking Policy

Terms and Conditions

All offers and bookings are subject to availability. The person making the booking must be 18 years of age or over at the time of booking. This person will be deemed the party leader and therefore responsible for all of the rest of the party, and also for all other aspects of the booking, including payment and any shortfalls of any monies due, either during the booking or after the event. The first night’s stay is payable as a non-refundable deposit at the time of booking to secure your room. When you receive your confirmation (if you book online) you must check all details and inform us immediately if anything is incorrect. Cancellations made within 2 weeks of arrival must be in writing and may result in the full amount of your prospective stay being charged.We respectfully remind guests that a reservation constitutes a contract between themselves and Monk Haven Manor B&B. The outstanding monies owing for your stay is required to be paid on your departure from Monk Haven.

Arrival and departure

Check-in time is strictly between 4pm and 8pm. This is to ensure that your room will be ready for your arrival and that there is someone on the premises to meet you. We do not have 24 hour reception so these check in times must be adhered to. Should you need to check in outside of these times then please let us know within 48 hours of your arrival. Check-out is before 10.30am on the day of your departure.


Bed & Breakfast - Accommodated in the APPLE STORE and GOFAN rooms only. Please call us on 01646 636216 to arrange to stay with your dog. Dogs are charged at £10 per day. No pets other than dogs are permitted. We regret that we cannot accept puppies. We allow up to 2 dogs in the Apple Store and only one dog in the Gofan room. Your dog must be kept under firm control at all times. It must not be allowed on any of the furniture. You will be liable for any damages to property including bed linen, soft furnishings and towels that may require specialist cleaning after your stay. Your dog must be fully house trained and be kept on a lead at all times when outside your accommodation and in the grounds of the property.
Shepherds hut - 1 small to medium sized dog will be considered for this accommodation at a surcharge of £10 per night. An extra £50 deposit is required at the time of booking and is fully refundable after your stay should there be no damages or extra specialist cleaning required.

Your dog must not be allowed to foul the grounds, interfere with farm stock or the enjoyment of the holiday of other visitors. Your dog must not be left unattended in the property or grounds. (Rabies: As the ‘pets passport’ scheme is not foolproof, we regret that we cannot accept pets from countries outside of the British Isles).

Care of property, breakages and damage

We ask that care is taken with the property. If accidental damage of a minor nature should occur, you will not normally be charged, but the party leader will be liable for damages not classified as such. Your room will have been thoroughly cleaned and inspected before you arrive. You agree to keep the accommodation clean and tidy and leave the property in a similar condition. We reserve the right to refuse to hand over to you, or to repossess, the accommodation if we reasonably believe that any damage is likely to be caused by you or your 
party or can repossess the accommodation if damage has been caused. These circumstances will be treated as a cancellation by you and may incur a charge for the duration of your booking.

Loss of room keys

If you lose your keys or fail to return them on your departure, a cost of £20 will be charged.

Maintenance and repairs

You must allow us the right of entry to the room at all reasonable times, for the purposes of inspection or to carry out necessary repairs or maintenance.

Using the hot tub

The hot tub is checked on a daily basis at approximately 10.30am. All chemical levels are maintained and monitored.

We change the water regularly and whenever necessary. Unfortunately, we may be required to change and flush the hot tub on the day of your arrival or during your stay. Should this be the case and it is unavailable for your use, we will charge the Apple Store for that day/night at the rate of our Deluxe Kingsize rooms.

Of course, we regret that this will undoubtably happen on occasions and can only apologise if this causes any disappointment to our guests. It is, however, vital that we maintain high standards regarding the hot tub. You, our guest, are our main consideration and we keep the maintenance and monitoring of the hot tub a top priority.

To aid us with the care of the hot tub, and to avoid disappointment during your stay, guests are kindly asked to shower before using the appliance. Any sunscreen, body lotion etc must be washed off as this causes a chemical imbalance and foaming.

Please be aware that any liquid spillages, frequent "in-and-out" activity and eating food in the hot tub can also affect the chemical balance.

We hope that you understand our policy regarding the maintenance of the hot tub and thank you in advance for your co-operation.


We have made every effort to ensure that your holiday is enjoyable and trouble free. If you do have a complaint or problem, please let us know immediately, so that we may be given the opportunity to rectify and correct the situation as soon as possible. Any complaints or problems encountered during your stay, and not reported at the time, will not be considered at a later date.

Cancellation and insurance

All monies paid are non-refundable. We have all necessary third party and public liability insurance on the property. However, your personal and travel insurance is not included, and we strongly advise you take out Personal Travel and Cancellation Insurance.

Matters beyond our control

You must take all necessary steps to safeguard your personal property and no liability to you is accepted in respect of damage to or loss of such property.


Any disputes you may have with us are dealt with by the Courts of England and Wales only.


We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998). We collect information about you for 2 reasons: firstly, to process the order and secondly, to provide you with the best possible service. We will not e-mail you in the future unless you have given us your consent to be included in our mailing list regarding future offers/events. We will give you the chance to refuse any marketing email from us or from another trader in the future. The type of information we will collect about you includes:
your name
phone number
email address
Any credit card/debit card details within our booking system are destroyed/removed after your departure.
We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent. The information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly. The personal information which we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and the law. If we intend to transfer your information outside the EEA (European Economic Area) we will always obtain your consent first. We may use technology to track the patterns of behaviour of visitors to our site. This can include using a "cookie" which would be stored on your browser. You can usually modify your browser to prevent this happening. The information collected in this way can be used to identify you unless you modify your browser settings. Access Statement

We have 5 rooms in an annex away from main house at ground level. 3 of the rooms have walk in wet rooms. 2 of the wet rooms are smaller with tighter access. Access to the rooms is up a hill which is steep in places and covered with loose gravel.  Vehicles can gain access for pick-up/drop-off of guests and luggage if necessary.

The Apple Store has an upstairs bedroom and a down stairs bathroom and may cause access issues. The stairs are wooden and have a corner to navigate around.

The dining room is at ground level with one step up to the porch and another small step into the main house. Wheel chairs could use this entrance with assistance only.
